1: Introduction to the Course

1: Numbers 技術英語単語:ALC 技術英語 I と II 前半




Our goal is for you to be able to do the following:

(1) know what Cardinal Numbers, Ordinal Numbers, Roman Numerals, and Fractions are in English 
      and Japanese.

(2) be able to say and spell cardinal numbers zero-trillion correctly in English.

(3) be able to convert numbers to words (0 --> zero) and words to numbers (zero --> 0)

(4) know when to use Ordinal Numbers and know how to write them properly in full form (first,  
     second) and abbreviated form (1st, 2nd)

(5) know how to say and write years properly

(6) know how to read and write Roman Numerals from 1-3000  (I-MMM)

(7) be able to read and write fraction properly in English

(8) know that 1/4 and 3/4 can also be read as "(a/one) quarter" and "(three quarters)

(9) be able to show fractions properly using a pie chart
